i've been looking to buy a 6x12 flatbed utility trailer for awhile now, and found what name brand i wanted. it is a KARAVAN brand and the local BOMGAARS were selling them, but didn't have a 6x12 in stock at this store. they called around and found one for me at the store at Denison IA. that manager here sent one of his employees to Denison IA to pull my trailer here. they called me and said it was in, i went out to pick it up (old lady....oooops...i mean the loving wife drove me), got to the store and it was a 6x12 trailer...cept it was a CARRY ON trailer, and i don't want one of them cheap a$$ trailers! the manager was PO'd that i wouldn't accept that trailer, said a trailer is a trailer! NOPE! anyways, he said they had a KARAVAN 6x12 at Mankato MN. and would go after it, but would charge for the trip...thought somewhere around $700 shipping! (if i'da had a hammer close) ! i gots back on the web and searched more. and found one at FLEETFARM at Sioux Falls SD. called them, they double checked it was a KARAVAN 6x12 and it was. i couldn't make the trip, but a friend was going that way for something else and said he'd pull it home for me. i gave him cash to pay for it plus a few other expenses. he called me from FLEETFARM and told me they wanted my drivers license info along with my SS number before they'd sell it. i told him i don't give my SS number to anyone! he agree'd! FLEETFARM said they needed that info in order to give me a title for the trailer, i told them to shred the title, i don't need one. they wouldn't do that! i told FLEETFARM to keep their trailer and told my friend to come on home without it! i called SD DOT and asked them about this and they said it is that way in SD, and some places even require a birth cert. before buying a vehicle! WTF? so...anyone out there that wants to buy something in SD, make sure you call first and don't assume it's gonna be like everywhere else! if the KARAVAN trailer wasn't such a nice trailer i'd prolly buy something else....but i want the KARAVAN!

It is the level of theft and resale of stolen trailers with a valid title off a garbage trailer sale that is driving this. Bud of mine was gonna buy a car hauler as I have, guy had 'A' title for it, did not match either id number or type trailer, defined a stolen unit. $3500 trailer at a discount $1250 based on a illegitimate title for a $500 crap catalog trailer. And the seller sells the junker to some dumb kid does not know needs a title and does not get one or cuts up for scrap.

picked up my new KARAVAN 6x12 trailer today at TRAILERS PLUS in Omaha. the sales people were awesum, the company gave me lots of discounts and accessories, when i went out to hook it up, the dude checked air in tires, (he also noticed a tire on my burb looked low, so he checked and aired up all the tires on the burb too!), he checked the torque on the lug nuts, checked all the lights, all the lights are LED's, we bumped fists and i was good to go. it trailed real nice on the way home. wish i'd have found this one before trying for the one in SD. would have saved alot of time and frustration on both my friend and myself!

Glad it all worked out in the end, know what you mean by wanting a certain unit and somebody tryin to pawn off what they got instead what you want. Yep DMiller, had a 5 X 10 trailer stolen and electrician next door had a car trailer stolen at the same time. Mine had a funky pull the trigger and lift the latch style ball hitch that required the blunt force of a 2' 2X4 to insure it locked properly. Thieves couldn't figure that part out and found my trailer abandoned in a hotel parking lot half mile away minus the ID tag. Neighbors trailer was found in Arkansas, he went down to get it and it got stolen out of the police impound lot before he got there.

well my zero turn mower will fit on this as will my 6 wheeler. i like the fold down sides for fork lift loading like the pic shows, my other trailer is a pain to load with a fork lift as i can't remove the rear ramp on it unless i take a torch to it, then i'd hafta weld it back on to use it. this trailer there are 3 bolts and off the ramp comes. and if i hafta replace a floor board, i can by unbolting the metal that holds the floor boards on, the carry on trailers you hafta torch off the angle iron to replace the flooring, then weld the metal back on to hold the boards in place. the latch to hold the ramp up and the sides and front are real heavy duty and lock tight. it has bearing buddies already on it, 14 inch tires, not the little tires on most trailers, has the heavy jack, LED lights, and is built alot heavier than other trailers of the same size.

I never before seen 1 the sides fold down. That would sure be handy at Menard's and then when I get home, simply stick the forks in and unload. I'm gonna look into them. It would make it so easy to haul loaded bee hives to other apiaries. Shameless, Thanks for the picture. Might have to forgive you for this dang cold stuff.
