  Trying to find a operators manual for a 460 loader. Haven’t had time to research it yet, but I would like to move the controls to the right side of the loader. The oil tank is on the left side,in the loader frame. The control has a short hose that screws into the tank. My thinking it is the return from the controls. If so, I should be able to move the control to the right and run a new hose from the control, under the tractor and back in to the tank. The nice thing I like about this loader is it has its own pump. So it doesn’t use the hydraulics of the tractor. | Worksaver in Litchfield Illinois makes several adapters for lots of applications. Look at their website or give them a call at (217) 324-5973 and ask for Kevin, products made locally and great folks to work with. They also make attachments for loader tractors and skid steers. |

   Just finished modifying a new old stock Farmhand quick attach and bucket for the One-Seventy with a 500 loader. Here are some "in process" photos.You may have to do the same with a quick attach for your 400 series. |

Brett, beautiful 170. Nice fab work to suit your needs. So, I received my operators manual on my 460 loader that I am putting on my 160. The loader came off of a One Sixty parts tractor. So it seams AC made 2 versions of the 460 loader. One, like mine, has the hydraulic pump that drives off the front crank pulley. I really like this because it dos not utilize the tractors hydraulic system, leaving the remote free to be used. The second version requires 2 remotes at the rear of the tractor. The manual I received is on that particular loader. So I am guessing at this point. This loader could be either fluid fed by the tractor hydraulics or by the pump which makes it self sufficient. So it appears the pump and hydraulic controls were a option? | Crank driven pump and valve could be options, some tractors would have had hydraulics and remotes which could run a loader(some did but were slow, so front pump and valve were improvements). Yes, you should be able to use a hose to return the oil from the valve to the reservoir. I would increase the hose size (fitting size would stay the same) one step for the longer run, definitely don't down size it. If it is 1" hose with 3/4" NPT fittings now (as it appears it might be in your pictures) that should be ok. I would use at least a one wire reinforced hydraulic hose and try to find a routing across the tractor, not under it. You may need a couple proper swivel adapters to connect it to the reservoir port and the valve. Just my thoughts. |

Thanks Jim, good ideas. That hose could be routed across the brace that goes between the loader frame. What reason for not going under the tractor out of curiosity? Just trying to keep hoses out of the way. If its the control dump back into the tank wouldn’t it be under pressure to return the oil to the tank? Yes, the self contain loader was a option to free up the remotes or in my case with only having one remote. Local Agco dealer pulled it up in Agco books. | I guess it depends on where you may go with your tractor. If you go into the woods or other rough area, such as brush hogging heavy growth, having a hose under the tractor has the greater risk of snagging it. I try to avoid adding anything under the tractor as general practice. |

| On my 500 loader, there is a tie bar across the bottom that ties the bottom of the upright frames together. Perhaps you could route the return hose there along with the pressure hoses for the left side cylinders. |

Bret you are correct, the 460 does also. Those lines go underneath to feed the rams on the right side. Good point on hanging hoses on debris. Tie wrapped to that brace will prevent that. Just wanted to verify it wasn’t a flow problem. Ordered a ATI quick attach for my loader. Looking at for a bucket for it. Looked at a low profile 66” skid steer bucket for it. Factory options were a 48 manure bucket, 60” and 80” material bucket. I did look into the Work Saver unit, but it took 2 separate pieces to do what I wanted. Chose the ATI for its simplicity as well as it operates like the one on my Mahindra other than the hydraulics being on the bottom verses being on top. Thanks everyone for your input. Can’t wait to install it, repaint the loader before I install it on the tractor. Picked up the 66” skid steer bucket this afternoon.
