The tractor is a D17 Series IV SN 78155.

I currently have a 5 lug setup.  I have bent a 2nd wheel moving hay bales through the field.  Maybe I am going too fast.  I actually only bend the aftermarket wheels.  The right wheel is still an allis brand wheel.  I noticed when I bought the wheel it said not recommended for front end loader.

I was thinking of stepping up to a 6 lug.  Do you know if I can use the same spindle and just swap the hubs and wheels?

The outer bearings are the same 5-bolt vs 6 bolt. The inner bearings for 5 bolt are 1.5" ID and 3" OD on the race. The 6 bolt inner bearings are 1.625" ID and 3" OD. You should be able to use the 5-bolt hub bearings in the 6 bolt hub. Never done it yet, but I will be swapping to 6-bolt hubs on a late D15 series 2 in a couple weeks.

Gee: you bent a wheel that stated was not for loader use when using a loader. Go figure. Wacko

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Robert I got my bearings for my D17 through Agco. They were surprisingly reasonable actually. Here are the numbers for DFW(narrow front) and RSFA(wide front). The inner bearing cone and cup are different from wide front to narrow front. The outer cone and cup are the same for both front end types. No spindle change needed to do this.
