Hello, just bought a Mahindra 2538 38hp tractor.I have 8 acres of field grass to keep manicured but first have A LOT of 1-2 inch wide garbage I need to clear mostly around perimeter of property line against neighbors trees. I heard flail mowers with Hammer Heads not Y blades work best on brush because they cut almost right down to ground not leaving Puji sticks all over to puncture your tires or stumble over at the least. Any thoughts on this? Will the flail mower with hammer blades cut the field grass good? What type mower has the best drivetrain protection? Thanks

Welcome to the Forum.

Your question should be on the Farm Equipment Forum to get the most exposure.  This forum is for discussion of forum changes and ideas.

I agree with JimME. You should post in the Allis Chalmers Farm Equipment section. This section is for the technical part of the forum (trouble posting, notifications, posting pictures, etc.)

Did you change the condensor, too? May have a bad condensor. Most of them are foreign made and it's not uncommon to get a a bad one.

Other than that, make sure none of the wires are grounding out on the side of the distributer and make sure the coil wire is seated in both the coil and distributer cap.

Did you change the wires on the distributer cap and, if you did, are they installed correctly?

After I reread your post, I see that you are getting fire to the plugs, which means it is either not firing at the right time (plug wires installed incorrectly) or a fuel problem.

Did anyone shut the gas off ?

I fought with my gas Massey longer than I care to mention with somewhat the same issue, sort of. Sometimes it would run, sometimes it wouldn't. Sometimes it would seem like it had spark, sometimes it wouldn't.

I finally switched it over to electronic ignition and never looked back. I would **highly** recommend the same.
