I have not yet found a shop manual for this but I have the brakes apart and found that I need brake cylinders, master cylinder and shoes.
I got a price from a forklift place of $500.
I dont want to spend that much. They could be a common Borg Warner or Wagner part.

Anyone know where to find  these parts more cheaply?

Thanks, Russ.

I you could find the old paper parts catalogs NAPA stores use to have, they had good pictures of parts so you could match what you have in hand.

Our NAPA guy took the numbers off the master cylinder, found a match. I think it was the same as a jeep. Wheel cylinders crossed as well. I got an on line catalog through Jensales. Good luck

goto http://www.liberatedmanuals.com" rel="nofollow - www.liberatedmanuals.com , put allis fp40 in the search box. yeah, you'll get a LOT of hits,so check the description for which is close, download it, have a read.
whether gas/propane/diesel.... a LOT of the parts were the same, even across several 'versions' of the forklifts.
You can check online forklift parts sites, get the 'part number', then check with NAPA or others.
I replace the lines as well, 'trick' is to get a slope from master to wheels, NO 'bumps or hills' inbetween...that way they'll bleed better.

If you find my thread on the F40 there is a place that I used that was very good on all these items for the brakes. I cant remember there name but they had very good customer service and I thought the prices were good too. Nothing is cheap nowdays. I was happy to find all the parts including seals. Yea you might want to check your seals while your in there. Mine were bad and needed replaced too.
Contact me if I can help. I can try to find more info.
I like having brakes!
Your forklift may be much different ??
Regards,
 Chris
