I start my 7040 without any air bubbles in the fuel filter and run it about 30 minutes and then air bubbles appear at the top of the filer and then the tractor stalls out. I wait 5 minutes and the air bubbles go away and she starts ok and runs for anothe 10 minutes and the problem occurs again. Any ideas folks?

Something blocking outlet to the fuel tank. Bad/loose fuel supply hose.  Old 7040's had a standpipe that they drew fuel up and out of the top of the tank. Surely by now it has been changed over to the bottom draw system ?? where is connects to the hose that crosses over from left tank to the right tank.

So where does it draw fuel?? If it is bottom draw, disconnect the supply hose at the filter base and hold it down below the side frame. It better GUSH fuel. If not, it's plugged between there and the tank. If it gushes fuel the blockage may be in the filter base itself. Remove filter and blow backwards thru the filter base with the fuel supply hoses unhooked and clear the slug.

good chance the hose is getting dry and cracked, might need a new hose.

O-reilly usually carries bulk 5/8 hose.

If it feeds from top, get a hose kit to draw from bottom.                MACK

Dangit, Mack, that was my favorite, I was wondering where it slipped off to...

Can I have it back? LOL

I was working on a traction inverter (a big box full of electrical stuff, under a subway train)... when I found a class ring....

With a finger still attached...  Shocked

Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.
