An older gentleman has himself and me stumped. His tractor idles ok but when move throttle to 3/4 it takes a few seconds to throttle up and at position it wide open. He said because of that is the reason did this and it is still doing it. He replaced the governor weights pins. The spring w pin on linkage inside that connects the linkages. throttle rods, pivot by fuel tank. Rod that goes across timing cover. Has carb full rebuilt with new throttle shafts and choke shaft. When he first started it Was over running he shut it down right away and adjusted linkage. That's where he got me involved and I looked over the basics in case he missed something We had adjusted the linkages couple different times. We removed the cover over the governor and started and ran tractor watching it when moving throttle it takes the weights a long time to spring out. When moving weights by hand they move freely and don't bind. All linkages move freely and don't bind. P.S. tractor has power steering ran off distributor tractor starts fine seems to idle good it just has the lag in throttle response and at 3/4 it WOT if you move lever all the way does not over rev |

| Check the fork, housed in the front cover, chances are it has a flat spot worn on it. Take it out and have a machine shop put the correct radius back on it, or try and find a better used one |

throttle up can be lack of fuel ( or too much air)... if you have all the jets clean in the carb, it could be an air leak on the intake manifold gasket, or small crack letting too much air in. ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

| Stories like this always confuse me. When did this problem start?? After he had the carb rebuilt ?? The throttle shaft may be binding on the carb from a poor rebuild. None of the linkage on the right side of the tractor should have been messed with. The linkage behind the generator need to be synched and that should take care of it. |

Dr problem has been before he rebuilt the carb. He rebuilt The carb first. Because throttle shaft was worn and play in it. I got involved in helping because he was scratching his head the 1st thing I did was unhooked the link to carb and moved throttle shaft felt good no binding. The linkage on right was replaced because linkage rods and pivots had wear and he thought That it be a good time to replace. When you say synched what I did is open throttle WOT unhooked the link off behind the gen. Pulled back on rod to governor arm. The link to carb did go in easy. Do I have to shorten a little more. |

Mack I wasn't involved in putting the new governor in. Do you think it could be a tooth off. Or can I advance it enough adjusting the distributor. (Will check timing marks) |

| I was thinking the card rod adjustment was done at idle not wot...but I could be wrong. Doc or MACK will chime in. Have seen the seal on throttle shaft suck down tight on shaft with engine running and stick the butterfly. |
