That was probably Tyler that said they were wanting them lighter, but I think 5# would be too much of a cut. About a year ago I think Tyler said they were paying a bonus for extra weight. 

Around here chicken wings (buffalo wings) are popular and the price has gone up a lot. I love the Ragin' Cajun hot wings at a local place called Blazers. They will burn you twice. I am also fond of grilled chicken thighs and those have not increased in price that much. 

You can be sure that the farmers are not the ones benefiting from the higher meat prices. I am going to start buying most of my beef from a local producer so all of my money can go directly to him and his family.

That comment reminds me of a little banjo picking town about 10 miles south of me.

It's incorporated because it has a post office and of course a bar. A few residents have pigs penned up on there front yard. OK I can go with that, not many residents, who cares.

It's when I started talking to a friend of a friend that needed his truck fixed that lived down by there.

You can claim as you want but Meat is a Animal based protein material and chicken remains as such.

Great Aunt raised chickens for eggs and meat, raised boilers and fryers as some were only good for cooking down the others tender and juicy when fried.  The "White" Meat.

I raise beef not chickens, never thought turkey was a treat. But in latter life there are reasons for more poultry less red meat ( gout being the biggest) . Dry old white meat turkey sounds down right wonderful, as to eating lab grow goo they call man made meat.

Yes rear poultry is not in the same as rear steak. But there are some things that can raise experience of eating chicky up a bunch. Marinating chicky in wine and spices at least overnight, grilling for some smoke, then finishing by melting butter into marinate and putting  this and chicky in pot to steam until well done. It is not that old dry chicky. But probably is not that super low fat, low cholesterol ether.

So that should make all that goodness much cheaper for the rest of you. I guess I can grow my own  have done it before. Just you  factory farmers do it so I don't have to work that hard no more.
