Most times the pedal is not a accelerator but a DEcellerator, as to the rest of the controls hopefully Coke or one of the others can shed light.

Pat yourself on the back for a job well done . Fixing other peoples mistakes (former owners) can be a real pain.

I had an HD-6EP and had a lot of problems with the throttle/griund speed governor setup. Make sure the trans oil level is topped off, also that the screen in the bottum of the trans is clean... I actually did away with the decelerator pedal and made a direct throttle linkage down near the ground speed governor along with lengthening the throttle governor lever (short one on the left side) similar to what AC did on the later model ones... Mine was a 1965 model,s/n 18909....  Bob S.

I really liked operating that HD-6, great little dozer, no problems other than those mentioned. I had a flapper on mine, but the later ones with the 7000 engines I believe came with the curved stack, at least I have seen pic's of that. I have 3 HD-6E's now, same except for direct drive. I'm probably going to part one of them out so let me know if you need anything that will fit off them. The HD-7G (early ones), used the 7000 engine and the same tranny/steering setup, different under carriage. So, potentially, another source of parts.  Happy dozing!  Bob S.
