| Was just wondering if the electric fuel pump on a 8550 or 4w-305 was an factory option or if that was something people added onto the machine. I am wanting to installed one onto my 8550 and I was wanting to install it were it would be if it was installed at the factory. But I have no idea where it would be mounted. if they were not a factory option I will probably installed an after market one onto the machine. Just wanted to pick your guys brains on this one for a bit. Thanks |

| Agco parts books don't show an electric lift pump for it. Our 8010 has one, but the 8050 does not. I had to replace the one on the 8010, but didn't want to spend as much as Agco wanted so I just bought an aftermarket one like Carter makes. Doesn't need to be very much pressure. So far it's been working fine. It's mounted inside the frame rail so it doesn't get bumped by anything. |

ive used 2 different transfer pumps both work well on my 7080 one was a holley pump we bought from a race car supply store and the other is a eldrabrock i bought from oreliys auto parts store they make them for gas and diesel they mount inside the right frame well it was around 85.00 |

I believe the factory "kit" was a Holley Red. Primarily for 7000 series with the 426 engine with the Roosa pump. Not sure they offered it for the big girls. The cheapies at the auto parts store cant even keep up with demand on a lowly old 6.5L GM diesel pickup, so i'd avoid them, If you can swing it, I'd consider a Fass or airdog system. A little more budget friendly but good flow is a Raptor pump. ------------- Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine. | I bought a good quality electric pump from inj pump Ed (on the forum here) for my 8550. Mounted it down by the base of the fuel tank, so it is gravity fed an ample supply of fuel, then ran a line up to the filter housing. It is adjustable pressure, and I have a fuel pressure gauge on it. Turn it on and off with a toggle switch. I really should wire it onto a relay and run it off the key switch. Works good. Darrel |

My late 7020 has the factory electric pump and it had a "red Holley pump" I got a new one identical to it from Summit Racing for about a $100 bucks. ------------- '59 D14 '68 170 Diesel '81 7020 40 All Crop |
