Marian Klutzke, W. Lafayette, IN had a WD45 that baffled JD enthusiasts during plow days; wonder where it is today? Outside appearances were all very original. Mariam had tweeked the inside a bit. Herb(GA)

M & W pistons and sleeves alone will make a WD45 put out 51 HP @1400 RPM's. If he had a diesel rear end (or used a diesel ring and pinion gear set) it would allow him to increase the engine speed to 1650 RPM full load and it would have had probably 56 or 57 HP and second gear still would have been 3 1/2+ MPH for plowing. Rear tires could have had probably 15 or 20 more gallons each fluid put in them to weigh more. Everything would look factory stock.

I dont remember Marion having a hot wd45 gas at a plow day. He did like to run his "secret weapon" unstyled wc pulling a 3 bottom rope trip allis plow. It had a factory wide front and a little oversized rear tires. I think it was his brother Joe's old pulling tractor, stroked crank, oversized pistons, Sherman trans and who knows possibly a high crop ring and pinion. He'd plow with the 45 diesel some but it wasnt really hopped up. Then there was the d17 diesel w/ a turbo and torque topper lp kit, now it would get some stuff done, no down shifting the power director, just flip the toggle switch in the tough spots!!

I remember his WC, don't know anything about his other stuff except his jitny his modified WC that would travel 40 mph or so, had a round baler top, took it on the ride to Canada that we did in 2004.

Most stock WD45s properly ballasted will baffle most John Deere owners. I once plowed with a four bottom moumnted plow where a John Deere 730 diesel was plowing with a three bottom as was a 4010 gas. My 45 only dynos 41 PTO HP.
------------- Most problems can be solved with the proper application of high explosives.
