I would like to find a couple of Lawrence Leather #88 rifle slings. Went out of business in 1985. Best slings ever. Searched high and low, none found. Everybody wants to cheapen up everything these days. Crap ain't worth having. Thanks Tracy

Just what gun are you redoing Tracy?  Remington of some sort?  Or just for random guns.

If you have one, there HAS to be some 'leather crafty' person that could make them ???
Trying to find GOOD cowhide might be a challenge.....

Remington 521T, a target rifle for youths. I can make the slings if I can find all the hardware. The Lawrence 88 was the best sling ever. I should of bought more of them back in the day. Thanks Tracy

Good leather is not that hard to find. Tandyleather.com is where I get mine from.

That is nice looking work. I just need to find the leather strips I need to make what I want. I need 1 inch wide x 76 inches long in a 7-8 oz weight leather. tan, brown or dark brown in color. The length and weight is what is the most trouble to find.  Thanks Tracy

When I read this I thought of the Brownell's Latigo sling. They are one continuous piece of leather. Only 63" though.

Tracy,
I have a friend in Mi. U.P. that he and his son raise beef cattle. And his son butchers some of the cattle and he has a meat packing shop. They save the hides and sell them.
Maybe I can find where the hides go, and can get some leather from there.

Any help is always appreciated. I know I ask for some odd stuff but I always appreciate any help. When someone asks about something I know of, I try to help them and send them in right direction. There is a wealth of knowledge scattered among  or Orange Friends! Thanks Tracy
