I have a neighbor who used to work at the Allis plant and has a bunch of equipment that he used to farm with but has since retired. He has a plow that he wants me to have but I have never seen it and he wants the whole COVID thing to settle down before I go over to pick it up. He says it’s a 3-16 Allis trailer plow, says he used to pull it in his heavier ground with his 180. I’ve looked around online and cant find much info as far as a model number. I would guess it has hydraulic lift . I can find a ton of info for two bottom trailer plows and 3 bottom mounted or snap coupler but not much on a 3 bottom trailer, any ideas for a model number?

Depending on its age (since you mentioned a 180 pulling it), a trailer plow will have the same designation or number as a mounted or semi-mounted plow. For example, a model 84 plow could be mounted, semi-mounted or pull-type. the 80 is the type of frame (spring trip with adjustable frame width) and the 4 is the number of bottoms. Or you could have a 74 in the same 3 configurations but has shear bolts and adjustable frame width. If its older than the 1960s.... then someone else better jump in here.

If its older than a 50 series plow, likely it will have curved, individual beams, and likely a ground drive pickup mechanism. The curved beams kinda look like I beams, or railroad rails, kinda got a curved top...

Look in the knowledge base on Plows on top of home page - pix & info. Sounds like a 73 w tail wheel.
