Joe, I hear ya. It was the same over here in Midland today. Definitely a day for a wide brim hat, long sleeves, high collar, and lots of Gatorade. Was still 103 during the 10 ‘o clock news. Beats the heck out of -20, and snow up to the family jewels.

it's hot here too...Joe...you desert folks should be used to that stuff...we need gills to breath here when the humidity sets in with the heat. the humidity is good for crops, hard on people and animals. when i hauled horses to Scottsdale AZ in the winter, i couldn't wait to go home to winter after being there just 3 weeks!

Talkin bout them heat waves,,I been thinkin on gettin me some long sleeve KHAKI shirts for this heat instead the light cotton shirts I usually wear. With my meds I take ,,I am not susspossed to be out in direct sunlight especially around here,,and there are enough times during the day that I have to get in the sun when movin from place to place. I now wear a wide brimmed hat most of the time.
What do others wear for sun protection,,??

Since I play lazy anymore and don't plant a crop to harvest in summer,it's not to bad to a 100,over that can be a little intense. The cows have sense enough to hid in the brush till 3 or so before they start to wonder out for a drink, so smart cowboy takes a siesta too.
I learned as a teen already. A straw hat and long sleeves is more comfortable than a sun burn. But I can see where the humidity is more less could be better. But that old sleeve protects from all manor of things from bugs to welding sl*g.

Joe, you keep that heat out there. I have some bush hogging to do the latter part of this week and some next week and the mid 90's will be warm enough for me. And you be careful and stay hydrated, heat exhaustion and heat stroke will slip up on you before you know it's coming.

Was 112 here in Midland today. Cold front coming thru after Wednesday, temps will plummet into upper 90’s. Uffda, fall must be on the way!

I’m wishing I would of started wearing long sleeves years ago. Don’t care for long sleeves but my arms look quite ugly from years of construction work out in the sun. I been wearing a straw hat the last few years. Sometimes a bandana draped over my head under a ball cap. Could a, would a, should a took better care when I was a young’en

Well,,I've always been able to work in the cold better than in the heat mainly because of my meds,,,but I think the older a person gets the less your body wants to be abused. This year I've had a whole lots less desire to be out in the sun and is the reason I've gotton less done as well,,,,, ,,,but I am also a realist and somewhat like that old grasshopper and refuse to beat myself down and say,,,,"Chit,,I'll just do it tamarrow"!! I know when I finally hollar calf Rope and come on in,,I "Feel" so much better and after bout 15-20 minutes under the A/C,,,,I'm ready to go back out,,!!! But,,CHIT,,,a man can't get too much done takin so dang many "breaks" can he,,???

Joe, thought I told you to keep that heat out there! I just finished 3 days of bush hogging and it was HOT. Not the high temps you are getting but the humidity kicked my rear end. When I got home today I left the tractor on the trailer and went in the house to rest up. I guess I ain't as young as I think I am.
