see what their returns policy is ! Bought a DeWalt tool from a mail order place,had a bad bearing from new. Could feel it heat in seconds. Was a pain to get sent away,but finally got it done.Month or so latter it came back,but had a friend in the box. You could see the other had been used hard. Finally found a phone number on the paper work. Called DeWalt and left a message 2 or 3 times, finally a message back,but so fast and mumbled could not understand a thing. Called once more no return call, so I said they must want me to keep it.
Airgas welding supply is the only local store I have seen Metabo tools in. Being a nation wide company any of them near you? I know it depends on the help they have, but the local Airgas store is very,very good about service where the Praxair is worthless. My experience would have been much easier from a local store,but when there is none.
