| Looking at an Allis 8050 and it has a pretty good hydraulic leak dripping from the pto shaft, how big of job is this to change the seal? |

If it has just the 1000 PTO then you can get the seal from the back. If it has 540/1000 you have to drain rear end oil, drop that rear cover/plate and you will see both gears and a large nut. Remove the wire and pin, back off nut then you can remove shaft to replace seal. Mark where the old nut was as there is a slight preload on the bearings in there. |

After you remove nut, use slide hammer to remove inner shaft. Then remove bolts behind outer flange. Then pry shaft assembly out, catching the two gears and thrust bearings. MACK |
