Its the only 7000 series model that AC extended its previous model number 7040-7045. Besides itโ€™s updated cab, the 7045 also received 4/2 PD plates(low/high), 4 differential pinions, & wider 2.55โ€ diff ring gear vs 7040โ€™s 3/2 plates, 2 pinions, & 2.30โ€ diff. ring gear. Probably larger radiator too?

The video also briefly mentions how the larger 4wds (8550 introduced just one year earlier ~ 1977) were becoming the new tillage horse during that era.

Great video! 23 row Kinze made it smoke while pulling thru that wet swale. Thanks for sharing.

That was an AWESOME video SmileSmile !! I do have a question though, is the amount of smoke "normal" for this tractor/ planter combo ? I made a post about our XT "rolling coal" but IMO, is no worse than this 7045 Tongue. Perhaps my idea of "rolling" is a tad different than others Wink

Watch the video again and you'll see why/when she's pushin a little smoke, that's also a hunk of iron behind her.

Yes, I've studied the video, up the hills with planter in the the ground, but what about on the endrows Wink. I will admit, we never planted at the MPH he is running Big smileBig smile !! And IMO, that's NOT a "little" smoke LOL!!

I don't think the amount of smoke is unusual for that tractor planter combo. I would say the puffs may be from when he bumps up the power shift. In the video the units on the front of the planter are not in the ground. A lot of people would have alittle bigger horse on the front if they are in hilly ground. Maybe this one is tweaked a little.

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and thatโ€™s where I found the science.
