count your blessings !
up here a lot of 'flyers' aren't being sent out...only online...
still get BILLS though ! I will NOT go 'paperless'. Anyone that does is just increasing the billing companies profits BIG time !!

Just the opposite here, I'm totally paperless.  I don't need stamps except for Xmas cards.  But yeah this mail is great, none of the junk mail at all, it's great.  I hate having to put all those trees into the garbage.  I even see the mail truck just drive on past the mailbox some days.

Why the heck do the hire them in the first place. Then what really irritates me is they get hired for phone work and customer service, hardy understand our language, speak with a heavy foreign accent so it is hard to understand them while they don't understand us. Then they get all pissy when you ask for someone who speaks English as a 1st language.
OK I'll step down now.

I been without mail for about three delivery days.  One of the neighbor's (can't think of the right word) kids destroyed the box and post with something he wasn't spose to be driving on the road.  Surprised, the mom made him fess up.  Dayum I don't think I will ever dig a hole by hand in the shoulder of the road again.

Anyhow am going to run by the post office today, pick up, and start delivery again today.  what a nut roll.  Angry

I like it, normally 3 days mail and 3 days NO MAIL.
About only mail I count on is my expected bills. I pay no bills online unless I order something I can't find locally. I Only get a couple of the box stuffers a week at this time.

Because they don't want to work.

Our local post office, and all the ones in their hub which covers about a 50 mile radius, can't keep postal workers. We have had several different "clerks" over the past few years. We, nor any of the other smaller post offices, have had a postmaster in years.

Another reason is we only have window hours from 8 AM until noon. Less hours but the same expenses to get to and from work. Often our clerk has to drive from our post office to another post office in the area in the afternoon.

Postal Service jobs used to be very good, lifetime jobs, but like other jobs, cutbacks have turned them into decent, but not great jobs.

Right now, we have an excellent clerk and an equally excellent rural letter carrier. I hope they stay!

Our mail carrier retired about a month ago.
They had a big blowout for him. He had been ours for the 30 some years we have been here.
I ordered something about 10 days ago and was being shipped USPSwhich surprised me.
More of a Fedex or UPS deal. Bigger box, kinda heavy.
We have a real long driveway and the box was sitting off to the side about halfway down.
Got an idea of what we are in for now.
Old carrier would bring it back and put it in the garage if it was going to rain.

I just drop the junk mail on the ground by the mailbox OR put it back in and stick the flag up! --- REALLY confuses the ILLEGAL b***h when she drags it out! --- Got cussed out one day by her for doing it,---didnt understand a word she said!-- probably good thing too or I would have decked her! LOL

I live on a contract route with a new carrier last fall. He looks foreign, but have not spoken to him.  But in Jan with our first round of flooding, he left 2 or 3 packages on the ground that did not fit in the box. Nothing got ruined luckily as I got there in less than a hour of delivery.  So not knowing if the old carrier supplied their own garbage bags for those occasions or if post office did I put garbage bags in the box. Which he used the next day. But since then he has used his own bags. He is getting around faster than any have for the last 20 years.

Our regular mailman will put packages that won't fit in the box on our porch along with the mail, when the sub is on packages on porch mail in mailbox
