After getting the fields cut, like some of you saw in my sickle mower post, we got the Roto-Baler out yesterday and baled up the smaller field before the rain came in. The small field is just a mix of regular grasses. The larger field we planted winter wheat and we are going to bale it up this weekend, since it got rained on. We thought about running the 66 over it but decide to bale it instead. Got 12 VERY heavy bales. They are dense but a lot of the weight is probably from the rain. Going to let them sit outside a while to finish drying out before we store them inside. What a difference it made to have brand new belts on the baler! So far this is one of the best times we have had using the Roto-Baler. Hope it goes just as well in the wheat field.

Thanks to all who have given advice on any of my posts. It helps out a lot to get info from people who are well seasoned on this equipment. And as always, we take safety seriously when it comes to old equipment. Hopefully that rests some minds as I have seen very many comments from how unsafe equipment can be. Especially if your in a hurry or are too cheap to have common cents.

Glad to see the first hay pictures of the year, wish I could get some up! Not sure how much hay you have done in the past, I would not jump on moving that inside if above 18% moisture. Nice to see those AC’s!

Thank you for the pictures. Haying season seems so very far away here in north west PA. Great group of Allis tractors too! Regards, Chris

Actually we saw some fields getting cut 2 weeks ago around here but we decided to wait a little longer on ours. Always happy to post on here!

Seems to me that anything that was bailed wet will not try but just mold.
Good luck
