I'm not sure if it's just my specific tractor or what but I know the previous person put a black armchair type seat on my d-17 and in the upper position it's a little too far away for the pedals for my liking, and in the lower position it's like you're sitting on top of the gear shift (in fact you cannot get it into a couple of the gears because of the seat being too close to the gear shift)??? Is there some other adjustment that I'm missing? Thanks Matt 👍

Bottom part of seat frame has qty 4 3/4" bolts (best guess as 3/4") that can come out and you can then re- position the seat forward and back.

Thanks for giving me the info on adjusting the seat. I did it today and man is that nice having it properly adjusted so that I can lift it up out of my way to get on the tractor then back down( to be at the proper Height for driving and what not...) (This is the same tractor that I rebuilt the carburetor on also and it runs like a top.it does seem to miss every now and then and backfire if I rev it up really fast,so I guess that will be the next thing to look into why it's doing that) Maybe needs new plugs and wires or needs adjusted on something else? Installed the rear blade and played around a little bit with it also, all in all it was a productive day. Thanks Matt 👍
