I Google-searched this and couldn't come up with anything helpful.

Regardless of brand, what and when was the last tricycle front-end tractor manufactured ?

In the last thirty years, all of the tractors I see are these low-to-the-ground utility-type deals that, regardless of brand, all look alike.
I haven't even seen a wide-front row-crop tractor, let alone a tricycle.

There were a few 86 series IH's built, not sure how late but between 76 and 81.

Doing some research quickly, a 4040 JD could be ordered as a narrow front. Early 80s? DrAllis or Tbran would maybe know the last Allis tractors

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the last narrow front AC tractor (from the factory) was a 175.
I'm sure someone will chime in with the right answer.

American John Deere 4040 = 1977-1984

I have pictures I took last July of a John Deere 4000 tricycle and it sure looks peculiar.

When I read histories of various tractors, the introduction of the tricycle front-end was "revolutionary" and quickly topped new tractor sales, holding the majority for many years.

There was some legitimate reason for tricycles gaining such favor and now they seem to be extinct; I wonder what about crop farming has changed so much as to cause their demise.

I know it is not a "tractor" tractor as such, but would the JD 6000 sprayer count? Probably not.

I imagine the safety part of it in addition to less people row crop cultivating. "Row crop" tractors have mostly gone to MFWD and anything less than 150 horse it seems is considered "utility." Changing times. I imagine driving a 190hp narrow front tractor would get pretty exciting if you dropped the front into a groundhog hole.

some 190's had narrow fronts. --anything with mounted picker is narrow front.
Narrow fronts are as safe as the driver. --A guy down the road here killed himself with a WIDE front JD,--one of the big ones, hit a tile hole doing high speed spraying.---totaled the tractor. ---Gotta watch what you are doing out there ---- can't fix acting stupid!

The driver is the reason for flipped tractors.  A guy down the road from me flipped his Ford N series tractor.  Now that has to be a Darwin Award candidate!

You just have to use your head when you have a loader was raised around a CA with a loader then it was moved to the WD both were narrow front and neither was upset.

Found a picture on the net, see if I can get it to post here. Well that was easy enough. I really like the look of this one, love narrow fronts for some reason.

I drove a narrow front tractor with a loader by age 10, and I'm still here, not suicide!

I fix a JD A up with a plastic barrel on each side to make spray tanks. Sprayed on the contour on all my barely and oats ground. I farmed as steep as anybody cause several places no Gleaner or JD sidehill combine and enough to be level. Only one time did I think I was in trouble. Upper wheel found a loose rock that was a foot tall. Seemed like that wheel hung for a hour off the ground before it settled down.

Maybe I used all my luck up back then so this virus will get me. Yes the rears are out to 8 feet cause it would just fit on a truck bed to haul it around. And yes the bottom of barrels are only a foot off the ground. Always had more worry about the front coming up than rolling it on a sidehill.
