I just bought a Wd45.It runs really good and the hand clutch doesnt slip or pop out as far as I can tell by just loading it on and off my gooseneck and driving around the farm a bit but the hand clutch just doesnt have much snap to it and the weight from the shifter pretty much ingages and dis engages it. I have the clutch cover off and all the shims seem to be there the pins are all in place,nothing broke and the disc as far as i can tell all look good.Its been several years since I have worked on a WD and have misplaced my book.My question is how to ajust the clutch to tighten clutch to where it takes a litte effort to snap it in and out?,

Disengage the hand clutch handle. You already have the cover off. There should be 3 groups of shims. Loosen the cap screws holding them in place and remove a couple of shims and retighten the cap screws. See if the clutch engages / disengages satisfactorily. If still too loose remove another shim or two until it seems right. The shims, as I recall, are pretty thin and sometimes really tightly stuck together. Always remove / add the same number of shims from each pack. Just a matter of getting the proper number of shims.

When the hand clutch is disengaged you can slip a feeler guage down in the gap you must have at least .035" around .070" seems to work the best. Adjust by removing shims make sure you take the same amount of shims from each of three locations.
