We are finalizing plans for the goto 2020 in Madrid New York anyone needing lodging should consider the town of Canton, Potsdam, Massena or Ogdensburg N.Y. Madrid is centrally located midway between these towns. Don't forget to get your banquet tickets as there are a limited amount available.
We have already had responses from 10 states and two Canadian provinces  , but still need to hear from those who plan on bringing equipment to display so we can layout the display area.
Any questions be sure to call Al & Nancy Garrand @315 287 7225.
  Thanks
  Al Garrand

Thank you all for the interest in our show!
The St. Lawrence power and equipment museum is still committed to hosting the GOTO in June, but the state of New York may have different ideas. We still have a few months till June so maybe the ban will be lifted and it will be business as usual.

Is there any updates on the status of the show for June?

Date Posted: 14 Apr 2020 at 10:18pm
All interested members of the forum.
GOTO 2020 in Madrid N.Y. is still a go but the state of N.Y. may have other ideas, but if they lift their mandate on group gatherings before May 15th then the show will go on as planned.
The museum hosting this show also has a show on Labor Day weekend and there might be a possibility of rescheduling it then, just a thought.
Keep posted to the forum under the shows and events section for further notices.
Thanks

To those who have purchased banquet tickets
We will be sending back checks to all those who have purchased banquet tickets as soon as possible. we rescheduled the show till next year instead of having it later in this year due to the uncertainty of the state mandates.
Thanks again see you all next year!!!

Sorry to hear that.  New England is a part of the U.S. that I haven't visited.  Well, OK, I've been to New York City, but that doesn't count.  Dirtiest city I've ever been in and I've been in quite a few cities in the U.S. and in Europe.  Was looking forward to the GOTO in upstate New York.  Good luck to the club with next year's show.  Certainly hope COVID-19 isn't still around then.

Personally I'm glad they made this decision. We had already decided not go anyway. This was a disappointment because I already had the time off from work and we was looking forward to it. But no way anyone in their right mind would go to New York this year. Now we can look forward to making the trip next year.

I agree that it was the right decision, however, we are 350 miles from New York City. There is probably more COVID-19 in your area of Tennessee than there is in our area.
I hope everyone changes their plans and comes up to visit us in June 2021 !

I really hate to report this, but I just found out today that the Madrid NY GOTO for June 2021 has been cancelled. With the status of the pandemic and the USA/Canada border closed, with no opening date in sight, the decision to close was made.

Al Garrand is doing some negotiating to try to get another date, but it probably won't be this year.

If there is any news, I will post it. There are a lot of disappointed people around here !!!

I am so sorry. This is terrible news for the host club & for A-C enthusiasts. And the Madrid, NY merchants lose out, too. I sincerely hope that you can still host a GOTO.

just finalized plans to reschedule our 2021 GOTO until June of 2023. I was terribly disappointed that the state of New York did not lift some of the restrictions to have outside shows, but it limited the amount of people to 1/3 of total capacity which would have limited our show. It wouldn't have been fair to those traveling long distances to not be able to enter after a long drive. By rescheduling to the year 2023 the pandemic should be completely behind us and we will be able to host a GREAT  show. We sure hop that everyone is well and able to participate in two years.
Thanks again for all your interest and phone calls and hope to see you all and more in2023.
Al & Nancy Garrand
