| I just bought a really nice D14. The clutch works, but almost to the floorboard to disengage. As I see it I should make the adjustment rod longer or ccw. I'm afraid of bringing the rod out of the trunnion. Is that possible. There is about 5 inches of pedal play. Gonna be plowing snow ,want to make sure it is adjusted right because of heavier use. Thanks. |

IRR, It should be only about an inch. it is possible to unscrew it too much, as I seem to recall. Pull the access cover off the bottom of the bell housing, and take a look at the TO bearing, sounds like you have a problem, somewhere... ------------- Source: Babylon Bee. | A properly adjusted clutch should work like that. As it wears (from normal use) it will keep moving up to where you think it should be. Lengthening the rod only moves the pedal back and doesn't change the release point inside the bellhousing. Adjusting the fingers changes that. |

I been to that same school as jay. Now I feel embarrassed thinking about the conundrum I threw when the rod dropped off the fork. |

| Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure. I put a new clutch in my I400 backhoe, it always acted this way. I just figured I did something wrong and went with it. This is a nicer tractor,and plan to use it much more, so I want it to be right. Thanks again. I'll just leave it alone. |
