It would be fun to fix, but around here a good running narrow front CA pin hitch has a hard time selling for $1000.

Too far for me. That is too big of a loader for a CA I do believe.

If I recall, we had a CA with a loader and it had cross bars that ran from the front to the bell housing on each side to help take the stress off the engine block. Doesn't look like this one had those installed.

I have seen two other CA's broken and their was a piece broke off both the engine block and the bell housing. Can't tell from pics about this one but the others I've seen both castings needed to be changed.

Buy the time you buy a different block, and install all the good components of this, if they ARE good, you have more than the value of the tractor in parts and labor. I wouldn't blame the break on the loader. The same thing has happened to G's when operators think they own a dozer.

More to this than just a heavy load on the loader. No matter how well it ran before it broke the engine is still gone. No different that one that is set up or a cracked block from freezing. It can not run until it is totally rebuilt in a different block. Most likely has a bent drive shaft as well Might even take a different torque tube when inspected. All new gaskets as an added expense. Scrap price at best minis loader that has a fair value.

Looks to me like the break area is quite dark in color down low. Been cracked for a long time and then a shock load finished it off.

Yep, looks like the bottom has been cracked for a good while, the middle has been cracked for some time, and the top is fresh.

Hello, Nathan. An old thread I know, but how did you get on with welding the bellhousing up? I've seen a B for sale with a crack across one of the bellhousing bolts. Going cheap, don't know whether to buy it or not. Many thanks. Regards, Rob.

Depending how bad it is, your patience, time, and determination it probably could be put back together. You can hot glue it with a good arc welder and high nickel rod. I'll warn you, the rod isn't cheap. Preheat with a torch to around 250-300 degrees. Have a friend help and keep the torch on it while you weld as well as after. Slow cool!! Even better if you can completely bury it in sand or kitty litter. Cross your fingers and hope you don't hear a "tink"!

Looks like a 10 Loader for a D10, D12, CA. Dad had a CA8 loader on a tricycle front end CA for years. The link says sold for 700 I would say torque tube on CA would be a weak point. Sorry to see it happen to any CA.

100A was marketed by Allis for those same 3. 1500lbs lift capacity. I haven't looked at the bracing arrangement for the CA (yet). I've beefed my CA up quite a bit by adding a frame to it. If I ever decide to add a loader (and can find one suitable), it will be a smallish one and will mount to the frame which will spread the load out across all of the available mounting contact points.

I didn’t do the welding. I bought it that already repaired. I and the previous owner used it many years. Mine was welded up with nickel rod.

I SOLD THE 100 LOADER OFF MY CA It mounted to the rear axle and the front bolster with tie point to the cultivator mount point on the bell housing. Those blocks are cast steel and not that hard to weld.
