Folks, I was browsing the interweb and found a Allis M listed for sale. I really dont know much if any thing about them and am not really intending to buy one. But they do look like nice little toys. Tractor Data said about 6500 lb. Allis 318 cu in engine I believe. Got that big beefy in your face grill/ rad. Would be small enough you could take it places pretty easily too. They want just shy of $2k for it.  Comments always welcome. I know my friend Ted has one of these stashed away too. Pictures always welcome too. Regards, Chris

That is straight looking old tractor. The speical apparatus on the front of track frames looks like part of a "check braker".Used on flood irrigated land. Would of had a mini dozer blade mounted in each of the frames to level out the berms as you crossed them. Most common on tail seat models as rolling over irrigation checks would launch you onto the hood. But also seen on top seat tractors as well. But tail seats are noted to buck and pitch going over any little gopher mound.But I could be wrong as most I have seen the blade is only a few inches ahead of the track,and this looks to be a foot or more out. So when you go look
 ask if it is a transplanted California tractor. Or at least came from where flood irrigation was used. |
