I have been thanking about getting a 175 gas or 185 diesel for a second work tractor for pulling a 6 row planter, 6ft brush hogging, 3 point mount sprayer, maybe some work with a 14ft RWA disk and maybe some plowing with a 3 bottom and pull wagons at harvest time . I have a 200 to do the tillage work with. I'm thinking about something to do the things that I don't need my 200 to be doing . Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Why gas on the 175. The Perkins is a nice diesel and when you put a gear reduction starter on them they really start well.

My best friend has a 175 Diesel with a AC loader on it. It has over 7000 hours on it and has been a great tractor for him. Neighbors have 185’s that have been equally reliable. I guess what I am saying either tractor if it has been properly maintained should give you good service. Now, its a determination of size that suits you best.

185 is large enough to run a big round baler. It would easily pull the equipment you describe. It would have been my choice if I hadn't found my series 4 diesel.

I like the 185 for the just about flat floor board, looked at 175 too and didn't like straddling the transmission.

Well if you are going to pull a 14' disk and a 6 row planter I would go with the 185, more power and weight with that 6 cylinder, the 6' bush hog would be a bit small for the 185, I have a 185 and a 6' will not cut out the tire tracks, I have a 7' and it barely cuts out the tracks. I had a 175 witht a perkins, great tractor easy to start, when my father passed we let it go.

My 180 handles a 3008 8' Bush Hog weighs in at 1800lbs, 540 gearboxes, had to add a 500 loader for ballast to drag that 3 point monster. 185 is same tractor with minor improvements as hydraulic PTO instead of mechanical and option to 1000pto, Running gear is same, hydraulics same. I pull a 540 Massey 12' disc with little issues, have a 4/14 that can pretty much bury and will handle that. Bought a Cough Cough GAG Four row Deere Planter but have not gotten it where I need it to use it yet. Mine still has 18.4 28s rears 9.5L 15s front on it, hard to find 28s at any reasonable price, wish I had 5 rail thirties on it.

A couple of the jobs the 185 would be a little better at. The 175 might be just a hair better for the small jobs. Start looking for 1 of each.

6080 with cab will be more efficient to operate and the 200 will be the back up

OK, I have to ask, why not another 200 ,same as you have ? Common spare parts, same levers, operation, etc.
I'm thinking the 200 is 'busy' and 3pt can be PITA to change things... a 2nd tractor would be a blessing.

If he doesn't want to use the 200 he has now for those jobs why would he want another one use for those jobs? Most 185 tractors I have ever seen have the hydraulic engaging PTO,most 190 and a couple 200 models I've seen have only the mechanical engaging PTO, that right there would make me choose the 185.

Sounds like the 185 would be my choice for all around small work. Don’t think the 6ft mower would work well with the 175 or 185. You will appreciate the 185 weight more for the rest of your applications and the 301 has a lot torque at low rpms. We have (1) 175 D, (3) 185’s, (1) 200. All are nice tractors but the 185’s will do most all light tillage and small jobs well. There are a lot of older 185’s out there with the manual PTO, hydraulic was and option on 180,185,200, seems like it was more standard on later tractors.
