On Sunday, my daughter and I participated in the Columbus OH memorial 9/11 stair climb at the Chase Tower. climbed 5 times for 120 stories total and 2,971 steps.
Proud to say this old fat boy made it, and the feeling of accomplishment was tremendous.  There were many firefighters there in full gear and SCBA.  It's been 7 years since I've worn mine, and know for certain I couldn't do it now.
Each climber received a name tag w/picture of a FF, Medic or Police Officer killed in 9/11.
I wore the tag of Lt. Gregg Atlas of Engine 10, a 20 year veteran of FDNY.   I am wearing that tag today at work, along with my 9/11 anniversary shirt.  I WILL NOT FORGET!!

Greg, a big THANK YOU! to you and your daughter for doing this. I will NEVER forget but I am afraid too many Americans have already forgotten or either just don't care.

Thanks everyone for the comments.   It was an honor to climb in remembrance of those lost that day.   I plan to do it (and some other stair climbs) again.   It was one of my biggest physical accomplishments.
