I use A-C 821 spec oil in in my D17 everywhere except the finals. For the engine a good quality 10-30 will be fine.

I've used straight SAE30 for the engine, every other hole gets 'universal tractor fluid'..
over the years in 4 D-14s, 3 Gs, 2 Bs,a C  and a CA... none ever complained...

Also have a 1961 gas D 15 . As others I use Universal Trans/Hydraulic fluid (Agco 821 XL) everywhere but engine . 10W30 in it .
