Drove past a field tonight that had the green beans harvested last week to see a Cat/Challenger track machine with a 16 row VERTICAL fold JD planter double cropping soys. Just how stout are the lift arms on that tractor?? What caught my attention was they were turning an end row and the up/down motion of the suspended planter was obscene !!

They will hold a whole lot more than a 16 row planter.    MACK

Pretty sure they weren’t planting soybeans. With green beans they will plant a second crop of green beans if the calendar says there is enough time to get the crop off before the first killing frost. At least that’s the way they do it in st. Joe county just east of you.

A challenger 400 is rated to lift 20k a 16row planter is probably half that.

I believe it's the Millican farm, south of US 12 at the corner of Conrad and May?? South west of Edwardsburg.

I saw a Challenger with I think a 24 row Kinze on it. Picked the whole thing up at the end of the row and made a turn for the next pass. Amazing.

I was just envisioning what the planter bouncing would do to an XT,I realize that my comparison is apples to blueberries. IMO, that's still ALOT of weight hanging on 2 arms Confused
