Yes I searched lol... but maybe not well enough, I admit.

Anyways, I've got the air cleaner off my WD45 to clean it out and I see it's FULL of seeds (wild parsnip, milkweed, etc.) and chaff from brush mowing and I thought of the old mason jar pre-cleaner we had on the Farmalls. They worked well. Any reasons for or against me using one on the WD45? Doesn't have to be a mason jar type, I'd probably use a more "modern" pre-cleaner as long as it fits properly. I went online and there's little that I found for Allis, less (none) for WD45 specifically. Other than this --> https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Tractor-2-Inlet-Pre-Cleaner-Assembly-6-Bowl-with-11-1-2-Pipe/323692334470?hash=item4b5d910d86:g:iAYAAOSwLXFck9KR" rel="nofollow - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Tractor-2-Inlet-Pre-Cleaner-Assembly-6-Bowl-with-11-1-2-Pipe/323692334470?hash=item4b5d910d86:g:iAYAAOSwLXFck9KR

Thanks!

Looks like it would work. It would certainly clean the air better than the mushroom on the 45. How about an air filter for the operator? Sounds like you  would inhale stuff just like the tractor.Haha.

Yes, I have an RZ Mask Model M2.5. Inhaled/aspirated some of that and - long long story. Not cool lol, it was definitely not good. "Allergy-induced Asthma." Nearly killed me. Pneumonia twice, or three times I don't recall right now. 7 months of hell. Good now.

Gonna do this for my B, if enough room next to exhaust pipe.

Thanks guys, yes I would have to paint that lol! And chaskaduo, yep, but I picked the second one I came to because the first one showing was a lot more money, and I didn't take the time to go look at more, I just wanted a link to show what I was getting at. Thanks though, I'm known for having short arms (not really, my span is 78" lol) and deep pockets; $1.45 is enough reason to change. Plus, I've had some good results with reliableaftermarketparts as a seller. I'm leaning more toward the kind without the jar, although Farmall one (IN THE RIGHT COLOR) would probably look better on a 1955 tractor. My only (minor) concern was if there'd be any good reason to NOT use one, and I don't think so. But as always, the two best times to ask a question are when you have no idea, and more importantly when you're absolutely certain you know the answer, because that's when I make my worst mistakes.
Time to click "buy it now," I think.

Get the little Donaldson with the plastic bowl that fits your pipe. You can run for YEARS and only change cup oil. You will find almost nothing in the oil cup. Some vendors on here have them I think.

The "mushroom" does absolutely zero in terms of cleaning!  Its only purpose is to prevent rain water from filling up the filter assembly when left outside.  The cleaning is done by the oil and screening inside the filter assembly.

There was a jar type precleaner  on my grandfathers WD. I always thought when I was young it looked neat on that tractor.

I'll have to send you a pic of the way I did it for my C.  I put a piece of tin around part of the air cleaner, spaced out away from it and haven't any problems.  Works REAL well and you wouldn't believe the junk in it after a days work.

I would love that Ted, "A penny Saved Is A Penny Earned", especially on a fixed income. Can PM it or email it, emails in the profile.
