I start out running cool with the rooftop AC unit. In an hour the entire cast iron dash-front assemble starts to heat up from engine heat and pretty soon you might as well have a stove in the cab. Before hay season I need to do something about this. Hot air blows in around the steering column and where the petals exit the cast iron. I'm think about removing the back side panels and stuffing it full of fiberglass insulation, but worry it might cause something like the steering valve to not get air and overheat or something like that. Any ideas on how to cool this thing down some? LB

200's had a plate in front of the dash area under the hood to help with that, do you have that? maybe cover the plate with Lizard skin sound barrier insulation, I think there are a couple other brands also.

Dynamat insulation used in street rods would work good

As Dan said, check for the sheet metal guards that isolate the dash from the engine. It's 2 pieces, and held together with 3 sheet metal screws. Sets in above the clutch area. As the others said you can add some kind of insulation to this for extra. My 200 has the sheet metal inplace and I added some silicone caulking at seams for extra sealing just to help keep out dust and odors.

Originally the 200 factory cab tractors had the fire wall caulked with silicone or something like silicone. I'd stuff insulation in there too. Probably will try doing all this to my 200 sometime soon...... after I get back to figuring out what's wrong with the remote hydraulics.
