My father, wfmurray, has been missing his Allis Chalmers forum friends.

He went into the hospital two weeks ago with very low calcium levels...spent 3-4 days in ICU, then a regular room, and today he was discharged to a physical rehab facility.

He asked me today to let everyone know he hopes to be back checking the forums soon...expects to be in rehab at least a week before he can get back home, but I'm hoping he'll let me take his laptop to the rehab facility in a day or two so he can get back on here to see what y'all have been talking about.

Prayers appreciated!

You just tell Walt that prayers are coming his way from Ted in WI.
Hoping he's getting better every day and can get on his laptop to give us some good ole fashioned wisdom!!

The kids have been hollering at me lately too...."Dad, you've gotta quit drinkin SO MUCH beer and drink more milk"....dang kids anyways....

Rehab isn't fun, but it's necessary.  AND, YOU'RE in charge to see that he follows doctors orders and gets them exercises and diet done like they're supposed to!

Will add him to the list to remember in prayer. Been down the road he is on and made it back. Sure is nicer at home, so do your work to get there. But may the PT be a good one to help the process.

Walter appreciates all the thoughts and prayers.

And no, Shameless, that is an iced tea, not a beer. My father and I are teetotalers, plus I don't think this particular rehab facility would serve him beer even if he wanted it. Smile

X2! Tell your Dad to keep getting stronger and better each day. Looking forward to seeing more of his wisdom on the Forum.

Glad to hear that he's improving and it is treatable. Did they find that he had a problem with his parathyroids? Hope he continues to improve.    Leon

wfmurray is back in the ICU today. The doctors think he has a bleed somewhere in his digestive track. His blood count is low and he is pretty weak.

They'll give him a transfusion, then try to get to the bottom of the cause. Hopefully, it's something that can be corrected soon.

The stuff on his "to do" list is stacking up like Legos.  This needs to be fixed before he can get back to the rehab facility. If he can complete rehab, then he can resume the rest of his radiation treatments that were interrupted when he had to go to the hospital the first time. If he can complete radiation, he'll start using a chemo pill to treat his prostate and bone cancer.

In other words, he has a good bit of ground to cover before he can ever get back to his normal routines.

Well that's a setback for sure.  Prayers that he keeps fighting the fight!
