My dad and I have met a lot of you b/c of the old AC’s, but the friendships we have made are amazing!!! My dad needs your prayers. He took a terrible fall Wednesday getting in the truck and broke his ankle. He shattered bones; bones broke through the skin; severed a major vein; transferred from one hospital to Univ of MO Hospital Trauma center; had 1 surgery on Thursday; faced with a 2nd surgery in next 2 weeks; and is faced with potentially losing his lower leg if he doesn’t show signs of healing. The next 5-15 days are critical to determine how docs proceed. He is the 77 year old diabetic with a walker you see at the tractor shows and auctions who acts like a big kid in a candy store. Please help me will him through a successful recovery. Your thoughts and prayers are MUCH appreciated!

My thoughts and prayers are with you. As I watched my parents age I often had to stop myself from intervening with something they were doing or attempting to do. I always feared the implications of them suffering an injury and those injuries always seem to happen while they did the simplest of tasks. Minor incidents that happen so innocent can magnify itself into something serious very quickly. I share your concern but also your belief that prayer can intervene in every situation. Both you and your father are in my prayers and will remain there for as long as you need. Stay positive. Keep us informed with his progress.

Howard V Sending you unending prayers for a speedy healthy recovery! Don and I have you in are thought's when ever we think of you it is the smiling happy man you are. At the AC shows you always have kind words and even some fun and funny jab's In times like this it is best to rely on family and friends and I feel we belong in both of those categories, so call any time and we will be there. PS Don't worry about the little IB we will keep her safe and sound for when you feel like getting around. Love always Don, Gayla, and family

JW My wife fell off a 6" step and shattered her ankle about 2010 or so. She's doing well and it was a real test of MY patience to get her to do the exercises and get back up and walking. I got us through it without any more damage to either of us.
I praying HARD for you all and for YOU to have the patience to not holler at him. He'll have to get better at his own pace, but he's gotta do it. So just PUSH a little when needed and get him ready for shows next year.
Praying every day for you both!

JW, please let your Dad know he is in our thoughts and prayers here in Iowa. Howard is the best. Every year at Hutchinson I try to take at least a few minutes to shake his hand and visit. A+ people. Jim

I stopped in to see Howard, has some shiny hardware coming out of one leg and foot. Somebody at Hutch asked me who Howard Vann was, I told them to look for the guy with a big smile on his face getting a hug from a pretty girl. Judging from his antics that I observed, he'll be getting hugs from the girls in the hospital too before long if he hasn't already.

Just heard from JWV and they are moving Howard to a rehab facility tomorrow morning so the healing and rehab process begins. Howard seemed in good spirits and has read the comments on this page and says thanks to everyone for thinking about him and sending along prayers for a good recovery.

I work for the local power co and met Howard when he called in with questions on two occasions. Every time I scheduled 2 hours with him. We spent 10 min with my professional capacity and the rest of the time talking and looking at Allis tractors. He is an absolute pleasure to talk to. My family is praying for yours.

Just spoke to Howard and he was successfully moved to a rehab facility today and sat in a chair for a few hours and it sounds like his therapy will begin soon. Was tired and told me he was going to get some sleep. Howard seems in good spirits and is looking forward to allis shows next summer.
