Friend just got hired by City of St Paul - in forestry - he has worked for a tree trimming outfit for years and about 5 years back applied to city - they called him about a month back and next day was hired .
City of Mpls cant find drivers for dump trucks - were paving and needed 10 truck - only had 2 city truck with drivers and could only find 6 ITO truckers to work - Saturday they worked 13 hours on double time putting down about 70 loads of blacktop - 1200 Tons of hot mix laid down - this AM they were doing streets again and were again short trucks

So right now truck drivers who can pass a physical and a drug test can be working almost immediately .

Was just looking in Hudson Wi paper - U Line is having a hiring fair for both white and blue collar jobs $20 to $30 + a hour with a $2 premium for 2nd shift
