I have a lot of NOS parts for the B&C steering boxes. Both the Ross and Gemmer. I don’t quite think that I could build a complete one from new parts though.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

I have a CA and steering gear box is very loose. How can I tell which box it is and are they repairable?

The B steering assy is only applicable to the B as the steering arm needs to be down as compared to the C and CA.  Also, the CA assy wouldn't bolt to the B torque tube

How do you tell which one you have? Ross or Gemmer?

Not 100% sure about the B, but my WF has the word ROSS in raised letters on the outside of the box.

I know my Super 100 combines has ROSS on it, but it's clearly visible. The box on the B is nestled inside the toolbox, so I'm unable to get a good look at it. Either way, I know mine is messed up. It steers fairly hard. I drove a B at Hutch, and that opened my eyes. I could easily turn the wheel with just 1 finger. It was like having power steering!

My B steers easy, but the front wheels wobble on the road when you get up any speed at all. I'm not sure if it's the gearbox or not, but I believe it is. Is there any way to fix the slop in a gearbox?
