Getting ready to replace my 4 dash gauges on my HD16DC. All work and and I hate having to do it but the faces are almost worn off and missing on my fuel pressure gauge. As long as I am doing one, I may as well do all so they match and are all nice and new.

Doubtful I will be able to use existing lines for these as they are original and likely to get rounded getting off. That said, should I just use the lines that come with the new gauges or should I plumb in new steel lines.

What kind of lines do I need to use. Book shows 1/4' lines and 1/8"npt fittings. Are high pressure nylon OK or should I bend up some brake lines to use. I know many of you have replaced gauges so looking for your ideas and suggestions.

What gauges did you decide to go with?  I would use the original lines if possible.  Hard to beat something that has already lasted 60+ years

I sent morten an email to check on his progress,  hopefully I will get a reply.

Do not use that crap rubber, plastic or nylon lines, use copper or steel tubing I almost lost an engine due to plastic line to gauge twice, then changed it to copper tubing and should last for the rest of the tractors life.

Going with Stewart Warner gauges. Look like originals. My goal is to use all current lines but that will be up to the fit and finish of the new gauges. I reached out to Morten as well. Nothing back yet.

Agreed and good point. If I have to replace, I will use new 1/4" copper lines like originals and 1/8" NPT male ends like the originals. Will use compression fittings with a feral and not flared fittings. Thank you

As another thought, if I have room in the dash I will plumb in 2 new oil pressure gauges for the steering system. Would be a straight shot from the steering filter canisters in the front to the instrument panel. Would be nice to know what kind of pressure I am running on the steering system.
