So, I've had these weights for probably four years or so with dreams of getting them on a tractor. Last year I finally got the first one cleaned up and painted. Got the second one cleaned and primed on December 2nd. Final coat of paint couple of weeks ago and on the tractor 7-7. Really wanted these on before the MIAPA show first weekend of August. Since I'm out of town two weekends this month not much time to spare. I hope to do some plowing with this old girl, have always used my other 45 for that.

Just curious, I have a pair like that as well. Still sitting on a pallet for 10 years.   How did you mount them? 2 men and a boy? Or is their any easier way? Thanks in advance..

Engine hoist should be able to lift them only issue would be working around your rigging.

sure are purdy !
but..only 2 bolts for mounting them ?
I have 3 or 4 D-14 'centers' here where I presume the weight bolts/nuts got a little loose and TORE the steel from the square hole  towards the center of the rim.

EP, they are Oxnard weights, can be seen in the deep tillage tools manual. Supposed to weigh 375 lbs apiece. I use 3/4-10 all thread for the mounting, clamp it right to the wheel center with a nut on each side. The book shows how to mount them using a long rod and hoist. We used a 6080 and TA 28 loader.

This tractor is my current 'work in progress'. It is a good working machine, but I have a number of things I want to do to it. Have power steering to put on, new tires and 6 bolt hubs for the front, new brake shoes. Probably some other things I'm forgetting. Just have trouble getting to them, always seems there is something more pressing to take care of.

Oh no. You made a shiny orange spot. Now you're going to need to paint the rest of the tractor to match.

Good looking rig.

A good paint job is in the long term plan, just not my strong suit! I paint as I go along and fix things witch creates a patchwork.

I made an "EL" hook out of 1/2 inch rod, with a chain hook on it and use my engine hoist to manuever the weight into place, and this allows it to turn a small degree to line up bolt holes. But at 375 lbs. you might consider 3/4 rod, at least!

The Mid Iowa Antique Power show is this weekend. Have the last tractor on the trailer to deliver on my way to work. 4 others already there. Lots of nice iron already on display, show opens tomorrow. I took some pics earlier today and will get some more as the show goes on, Mike.

[QUOTE=IBWD MIke]EP, they are Oxnard weights, can be seen in the deep tillage tools manual. Supposed to weigh 375 lbs apiece.

They also show up in the Oxnard rear blade manual along with the 157 lb. front wheel weights.

I used my cherry picker with a ratchet strap, without the ratchet end.  Hook one end on the hook and bring the bare end thru and up to the hook.  Get a couple bolts started but leave lose.  Then untie the strap and slide it out before the final bolts.  It worked great and my weights are probably closer to 500#.

They are indeed 16.9x28s. I like them so well I'm thinking about putting my other pair on the narrow front. Will be awhile though, will have to build another set of 15" spin-outs.

Folks, lots of nice orange iron already at the show yesterday and still streaming in when I had to leave for work. Red pretty well represented too.
