I am looking to put wider tires on the front of my 185 (I currently have tiny 7.50 x 16). I plan on using the 9.5 x 15 tires that most of these tractors came with. What size of rim do I need and how do I get the correct offset? Many thanks in advance!

| exchange the wheels and tires off a wagon. if you don't have a wagon, watch sales, you can usually buy the whole wagon with the size tires/wheels you want cheaper than buying just tires/wheels out right. gravity flow wagons with the 6 bolt pattern will fit right on. and you can usually buy them for about $300. or so, and still have the wagon to use. I blew a wheel on the front of my backhoe, and a tire/wheel off one of my heavy gravity flow wagons fits right on the backhoe. it was an 8 bolt pattern. and I've got the rear tires/wheels off my IH rotary combine on the front of one of my tractors, also 8 bolt pattern. some/most Chevy pickup 6 bolt wheels will also fit the front of the tractors. that's why sometimes you see fancy wheels on the front of tractors, they are from the kid's pickup! |

If its a 6 on 6" bolt pattern, its almost a universal fit tractor front wheel. 6" wide will do a 9.5" tire. 5.5" rim will also work, but will squeeze the tire a little taller...

Recommended rim with for 9.5L-15 tire is 8.00 in. per the firestone tire book. Most likely will need a 5/8 or 3/4 offset. | 8" is standard for the 185, if I had to buy rims, I would go for 10" rims and use 11L-15's. I have 11L -15 4 rib fire stones on mine with 30" rears and it sits about level. I used the stock 8" rims and is bulged in the center a bit. |

| D -- do you have a loader on the front? If so please find a salvage lot that has a tractor like yours. The rims on the front of a tractor have heavier centers in them than wagon rims. For years I had to get them from the JD dealer, strip the paint, and repaint them white. |

I used rims off a New Holland round baler to put wide tires (12.5 X 15) on the front of my Oliver 1365 with a loader.They had the right offset and they are a lot heavier rim than most implement rims.Been on the tractor several years with no problems.
