I've started to replace the range cable on my 7040. I've got the console end under control but how do you get to that illusive ubolt that holds the cable under the cab? It's a powershift with 3 remotes and has right hand fuel tank set on 30's. Everything is in the way. | Reach around the hydraulic valve stack and remove any flow controls that are there. Now, remove the two 1/2' bolts (3/4" wrench) that hold the U-bolt bracket. I always use a long 3/8" drive extension and a wobble socket to remove the U-bolt. You might be able to slide it forward to access from inside the cab floor. |

| I'm trying to envision a lever coming up 4 inches thru the floor and laying near horizontal under the seat and coming out near the front of the console like an auxiliary transmission shifter on a dump truck ?? There's not much room between the seat and the console for an extra lever. |

| It's like Dr said. Low enough to swing under leg to go in park. Every thing backwards from console shift. Used a round plate with carpet glued to it that moves with shifter to seal hole in floor. MACK |

I thought it was a little classier than how this 7030 had been fixed by the previous owner but i guess it still got the job done
