I just bought a 3 row AC 74 series planter. it came with corn and bean plates but I would like to drill rye/wheat into the beans when they are 2" up for a food plot. Ive read articles saying that this planter can plant rye/wheat but I can't find the plates or the adapter plates to convert to John Deere plates. any help would be much appreciated

Welcome to the forum.  I have never seen rye planted with one of these, but hopefully others will be able to chime in.  The parts you are looking for are available on ebay from folks, or can be found new from this place:

You can get the AC adapter that will get you the ability to use JD plates.

I imagine that the cut-outs would have to be very small.  Or you could use a larger corn or bean plate to push a lot of seed out.
