Hello to all, I recently bought a 1964 HD11b, and have a question about the clutch fluid/lube system. My problem is I have a pretty good leak coming from the top of the tank where the 1" hydraulic hose connects to the jic fitting, or within that area. (Return side) I have had the hose off, and it appears to be o.k., and resealed the jic to the npt fitting, but still I have a leak when running. My question to you is that parts book shows a screen under the fitting, inside the tank, could it be so plugged up that it is forcing the oil out of anywhere it can go? Also, does anyone know what spin-on filter goes onto the pressure side of the clutch lube system? I have the A/C number, but does it cross reference over to another filter? Thanks for any help....

Thanks for the reply, this morning I pulled the starter off, and then removed the assembly from the top of the tank. It looks like the leak might be coming from the oil tank adapter. I will try to disassemble it and reseal it. You are correct, the screen was clear when I looked down into it. I hope I can correct it without having to have a 4-wire hydraulic hose made up. (Not cheap) Anyone have a cross reference number on the filter, or will a standard Baldwin hyd filter work? Thanks...

The AC number is 4511629, but I was asking if anyone had a cross ref. they were using. Most of the filters I have bought have been NAPA brand.

I will Check that out. I have cleaned and resealed the screen cap and the jic fitting, and will install it in the am. I saw no cracks or bad areas in the copper gasket in the cap. I did de-burr the housing around the seating surface, I hope this will work. Thanks for all your help. I will post a conclusion when I can.

This morning I went up to the shop and reassembled the pick-up assembly and then reinstalled the starter. (Bottom bolt on the starter is a #%& to get to.)I fired it up and have corrected the leak... Thanks for all that responded to my post.
