Looking for info on an Allis 160 tractor engine ?

What other tractors or equipment share that engine type ?

Thanks in advance

Revised:::: looking for the Perkins diesel for the Allis 160 Tractor.
Sorry for the confusion.

The engine is a Perkins AD3.152.  The same engine is used in a couple of Massey Ferguson models.  I think the MF model 135 is one of them.

We have a 160. We rebuilt the little perkins. You cannot throw a stone without finding a sassy massy that has the same motor for example some 135's and definitely the 235. One small correctable problem is that massey did not use a frame rail beside the motor to tie their tractor together, their oil filter(which is a better, cheaper, and easier to get filter) is on the block facing down, Im guessing u could just swab them out. It's nice because you can still get parts for the motor. We rebuilt ours from the ground up, and added a turbo. I am not a fan of massey, but I do think perkins made solid engines. Almost forgot, I think the tach drive is unqiue for the 160, but I do not think that a game changer. Our rebuild kit said massey ferguson on it.

If it a gasser, the 149 Allis engine (D14 and later D10/D12) will bolt right up with no additional mods. Could lose a little power with this swap

The same Perkins engine was used in thousands of small boats. If searching for parts don't limit yourself to just tractor parts. Perkins is still in business and lot's of parts are available from them. If you want a complete engine or rebuild check boat dealers. May save you a few dollars. Some parts are specific to Allis like exhaust parts and such but I get most everything else from my local marine outlet.

Greg

I think the 160 refers to the tractor Model Number, not the engine cu.in.

That's why they are talking Perkins Diesel.

I would really like to see pictures of the turbo setup.  I'm rebuilding mine now and one of my buddies is trying to get me to up the power.

Yes the Perkins AD3.152 was used in the MF135 Deluxe diesel and MF150. Early gas MF135 Deluxe and MF150 used a Continental Z-145, later used a Perkins AG3.152. The Perkins were 3 cylinder and the Continental 4 cylinders. The Perkins engines used an adapter plate to fit the bell housing. My parts book shows the same part number for gas and diesel, MF part number 733 594 M1, Perkins part number 37147802. The parts book index shows a page for an adapter plate for the Continental engine but it doesn't show one on that page. The back of the Continental engine block has a wide flange to fit the bell housing.

The Continental gas drives the tachometer from a gear on the back of the generator. The Perkins connects the tachometer cable to the back end of the camshaft.

the 160 used an industrial engine - a tad different - the crank was splined for the front pulley
