I would like any info I could get on a F3, a friend is thinking about selling us his and I don't know much about them. So what would be good, bad, stuff to look at?
Thanks Luke

They are great combines but remember that you are looking at a 34 year old machine. Very easy to work on. Condition is everything. I have seen them in salvage yards after being worked hard and you can still find a sweet one at a auction that almost looks new every now and then. I remember going with my father when he was thinking about renting the farm out to look at a green strip F3. I wish I would have voiced my opinion more but I was to busy chasing gals back then. It was one nice combine and I wish we would have bought it. The farm got rented out the next year. Ryan

They are very nice machines. We ran an F2 for years and bought a 3 last year. There are really no weak points on them. Just normal wear.
I would look at the usual stuff. Tires, cylinder bars, raddle chains, and chains and sprockets. And just general overall condition.
Good luck

Here is the F3 my dad bought two years ago. Really nice for our sized farm. It is a gear drive which I am happy about. Have learned a lot about the F3 over the last three seasons(not because of break downs or anything) so if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask me!

DanD, Nice looking F3. Neighbor bought a late F2 this year and I helped him with it. Do you still have the 630 JD with 319 NI picker?
