Anybody know the track chains pitch and shoe bolt pattern for hd6g, looking to replace both chains and pads on mine they are pretty worn,best pic I have of the tracks

The subject of replacement chain and having pins and bushings made has been discussed on this forum. Use the search option. There are 78 pins and bushings that will cost $14 or more each to have made. Weld rebar to your grousers and evaluate your need a replacement chain. Are the chain bushings nearly round or do they have flat spots or are they worn thru? If the front idler is at the most forward position of the adjustment range the pins and bushings are worn out. The chain rail height is another issue. Are the rollers wearing the sides of the chain rails near the pins? Each chain rail can be built up by welding. Your welder is your best friend. If you are looking for new replacement parts, look for another track loader. That will be cheaper. Until then Use what you have like we all do. |

| Plan on welding rebar on for now but would like to receive the he completely, I'm not at the furthest setting on the idler just looking to completely overhauling the undercarriage within the next year |

| After posting I looked at your picture again. Your chain does not look bad. The front idler has an inch or so of forward movement available. The space between grousers does not look excessive. What is the condition of the chain bushings and the rear sprocket? |

| If pins/bushings have not yet been turned and are in still decent condition enough to turn a track shop can do that to restore a few years of life before they are absolutely shot. Then as noted can weld rerod to the shoes for traction. |

The rebar weld-on works great and lasts very well... however be sure to buy "weldable rebar". ------------- Currently- WD,WC,3WF's,2 D14's B. Previously- I 600,TL745,200,FL9,FR12,H3,816 LBH. Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal! |

Hmm - I went down to my local salvage yard and it their pile of short length rebar made a deal for so many feet . Next time I needed some that yard didn't have any the size I wanted - so went to his competitor down the road - he said take what I needed from rack so after weighing truck and getting what i needed , seems his price was twice what new 10 or 20 ft lengths sold for - drove back over and dumped off . Welded on my D6 track and HD5B along with 2 HD5G tracks - never checked if it was weldable type - Used 7024 drag rod most times , last time just used 70S wire feed wire . ------------- Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do?
