WORKING ON A WD-45D 230D ENGINE. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SEALING O-RINGS FOR THE SLEEVES I HAVE RECEIVED FROM MINNPAR AND AGKITS. PART NUMBER IS 74500301, AGKITS O-RINGS ARE AN ORANGE COLOR AND ARE VERY PRICEY! THE MINNPAR O-RINGS ARE BLACK AND PRICED UNDER $1 EACH. I BELIEVE SOME OF THE SLEEVE SEALING RINGS WERE MADE OF A SPECIAL MATERIAL. CAN ANYONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS?

50 years ago all O-rings were BUNA - N .... that works on MOST oils but will swell when contacts gasoline or alcohol, etc...... 30 years ago they started making some O-rings from VITON or SILICON and the Viton were orange color... later on they were black, but had a couple orange stripes to designate Viton........ unless marked, you assume a black o-ring is the old BUNA- N ( standard rubber).

figure way back many engines used Alcohol based anti-freeze in them - now finding that is next to impossible - would say minnpar should have the right material to use as they have supplied muck of ag and industrial equipment suppliers for years
