So I'm wanting to build some sort of header stand for 13 ft grain platform and a 438 corn head. What are some thoughts oon how I go about this?

RR tie on the ground boar two holes and bury 4x4 s vertically let them stick up 6" above the RR tie. Boar two more holes about 8' apart bury 4x4s leaving a foot above the top of the RR tie bolt a 6x6 to each side for the cross support. You'll need to measure the dimensions from your header mounted on your combine to get the height correct. If the front of the header is to high you won't be able to back out from the header.

we never used them on the grain heads,, too easy to warp the head and destroy it... always sat them on a couple of old truck tires... header stands ok on slick level concrete floor... but who....

all my headers had their own stands, but you had to have something under them or they would sink into the dirt. later on I just set down 2 posts with a 4x4 across the front of them and set the front of the headers on that. pallets stacked 2 high will work too. my IH headers would sit direct on the ground, but I never did that as they would rust a lot doing that. I always tried to keep air flow under any headers I took off combines.

With old wagon frames so cheap, make brackets and use them for the heads. You could move them easy if you need to. This could be done about as easy.
