Folks, The wife and I have been busy working on a new eating area in the house. So the last 10 weeks have been very busy! Not much time to get on tractor forums or even play with my tractors! Lots of work, decisions, and money flying around. We have to pick out stools for the island and a couple small electrical things and its done! I did not realize how far out of date we were with technology. I decided to be the general contractor on the project so that was a new experience too. I really enjoyed the remodel project! Of course I have pictures!:) I have browsed through most of the AC forum topics. Did I miss anything big? Great Grandson Rhett and I took the D17 down to the garden to pick some strawberries this morning. Yesterday I took the wide front WD for a short trip down the road and back. That tractor is so worn that it is just very smooth to operate! The narrow front WD has been staying over at my grandson Nic's place and he is getting use to using it for wagon rides and evening tractor rides too. It was his great grandfathers so it has a good home till I have room and storage area to get it back home someday. Nic wants to do a couple tractor pulls this year. I will try to get some pictures. Hope things are good in Orange Land! Glad things are going well for ya. this year has been plagued by brake downs and fencing problems for us, so the list of things that I wanted to get done this year is collecting dust.lol I guess this year is making up for the 4 years I had of no problems... our strawberries are just starting to rippen, we planted threw the past few years around 500 plants, my d14 has a strawberry picker on it......me they are on a steep hillside. Planted them right below were the coal seam crops outa the ground and they are doing great.------------- Just cause it's orange don't make it a tractor, there's only one..Allis Chalmers |

Chris - I wondered where you went! Funny on the kitchen, we did one of those this year too. I buy tractors and equipment, wifey buys a new kitchen. I wasn't the GC but did do all of the hardwood flooring, the in-floor heat and 75% of the electrical. When we were doing the in-floor I decided I'd try some in-wall heat too - it works fantastic and far better than I had even hoped. And yep - we have pictures too. I'll get those up later.

Never thought about a strawberry picker. I will get to work on that. play farmer, when I fire up the D17 and look at the tach I am reminded of you. Thanks, its working good! We do have something eating our strawberry's too. Not sure. They just mutilate the ripe berry's and leave some remaining. Chris, it's good to see you back on here again. I have not been posting much in the last three months myself, more tractors in need of work and I'm not back up to speed yet but happy to still be here. lol ------------- 3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep. |

Last year the rabbits were eating my little patch,,,, so I got some fence and it keeps them out! Then I would pick a ripe berry, and it would have the center eaten out,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, got some Terro Ant baits and that stopped that happy horse crap,,,,,,, now I'm looking for some I can eat!!! ------------- You don't really have to be smart if you know who is! |

Play farmer, Yea our quartz counters were about the same cost as restoring or fixing the 3 WD's and the TD6 dozer! Chris, GREAT to hear from you again!!!!! I too miss a lot on here during the summer months. I don't get on but on Mondays or Tuesdays during this time. I hate the catching up! Ted, I agree! When I try to catch up its almost impossible! There are a lot of new folks all the time on here! Hope your summer is going good! Here is a off topic picture of the remodel project. The AC tractors had to take a back burner this year. :) We took over the smallish kitchen and dining room. To fit in a island and new, larger, more functional design and eating space. Opened the wall to the living room. All new appliances and cabinets and counter tops and flooring and doors and on and on!:) That's Cheryl getting moved into her new kitchen. Shameless, I buy too many tractors go to too many meetings, Tractor shows, go to breakfast with the boys, spend too much time on the garden, lawn and making syrup. This 10 week kitchen project and lots of dollars helps balance the scales with Cheryl. I think?:) Also I have really neglected the house for years other than restoring the roof and saving the garage. Still have a lot to do on the house. Since I am on a roll, might as well keep going. Next big thing is new propane furnace and central air system. Oh yea I would like to build a new work shop, so this may help with that guy project?? On the money side, we cant take it wit us! And Cheryl should have a real nice auction! Kitchen looks great Chris. I gutted ours about 15 years ago and can still remember the pain of not having a kitchen for those 3 months. I can also still remember they screwed up our cabinet order three times before getting it right.
