I have a 1939 Allis Chalmers B. I have been trying to start the tractor and it does not seem to be getting any fuel to the cylinders. I have checked the timing at least 3 times and it is correct. I have checked the compression on all 4 cylinders and it ranges from 50 lbs to 70 lbs. I am at a loss for what to check next. any ideas. |

| They tell me an engine won't run on less than 80 pounds.---I don't believe it,---BUT with comp. lower than 80, they won't run very well, ---might also be hard to start unless you pull start them, and not have much power. thanks; ac fleet |

| 50 to 70 lb may not be enough to make enough vacuum to pull gas into the cylinder or may be your intake manifold gaskets are leaking. Randy |

Squirt some crankcase oil into the cylinders and do the compression test again.If the pressure goes up that is a sign that the rings are worn giving the low compression. If the pressure doesn't go up that is a sign that the valves are leaking (or head gasket) and that the valves need to be ground. Gerald J. |

| Hello Shadow Check the carb open the plug or pet cock under carb fuel should run steady for at least 10 sec.. As far as compression it should RUN |
