electric and cable and other companies used them to carry stuff thru swamps and bogs, and sometimes thru heavy snow. local company here used to have one, they used the chit out of it.

I've seen something like that at some of the drill sites that we take soil cement to.  as the locations are so bad we can't take our highway tractors up in there we have to drop the trailers and they hook those things to pull the trailer up in to unload them. As Karl said, going places you shouldn't go.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

It started life as a Military High Speed Tractor made by Allis-Chalmers in the 1940's.

That is a prime mover. Had one on auction time a couple months ago. Discussion about it on the construction section of the forum. The one on auction time brought about one fifth of that price. Darrel

That one could be the same one that was on auction time, because Detroit Diesels were not put in them from the factory. The one on auction time also had a Detroit. Suppose more than one of them could have been converted to a screaming Jimmy though. Darrel

That thing is awesome. What a log puller or imagine a snow blade up front. Would have to be noisy and hot to drive with the engine beside you.big time money for it though.
